Vic this is the e-mail you sent me
that I opened, and it had all he
"computer garbage" in it.
Did you figure out what I meant by
"computer garbage?" Does
it have a virus in it? Did you get
the Policy on
Mobile Homes that the Committee created
and sent to the owners? What do
you think of it? Arthur

Yes, that fundraising2k seems to be a
title to something sent on by
the virus. I got one directly from
Jackson County Democrats, I've let Leon
know they may be a source. I believe it
got into my computer e-mail address
list and randomly picked a stored 1999
letter to the editor plus the
garbage and sent it on. I don't
understand all that is involved with this
virus
thing. I have since deleted my whole
address list, rebooted my computer, which
is a major undertaking I would not wish
on anybody. So continue to not open
attachments without confirmation that it
was intentionally sent by a
trusted acquiantence. I'm convinced the
world would be a better place without
computer viruses! Vic

I read it Arthur, as it does read well
now, it makes one believe that your
(and the committee's) heart is in the
right place in regards to the plight
of fixed income seniors residing in MHPs.
They sure don't want the
Chlorine, chemicals and increased expense
of connection to city water. The 60%
required to accept sounds very good, but
obviously you have not dealt with
management of Leisure Days like I have
for 8 years. It could easily go to
court, the tenants lose, and our rent
goes up to cover management's court
expenses. (we beat ourselves)
The more obvious fear is:
1. The water district cannot condemn
property for easements. In Shady Cove
there will be many confrontations.
2. The City can, " for the common
welfare" condemn for easements, a
merger
is eminent!
3. The District is contained within the
city limits. I personally cannot
understand ignoring the plight of Jackson
County citizens just outside the
city limits obviously within the
capability of the water district to
provide water service.
4. The district being within the city
limits insures that there will be no
complication in the annexation of city
with the water district. Great
argument for the annexation, why have 2
boards, city council and water
district?
5. Now even common law will ascribe to
the fact that a city's sole purpose
is to provide common services to ALL it's
citizens. Let's not even
contemplate providing selective services
to groups or individuals.
6. Management in Leisure Days would love
to let the city furnish water,
with the increased property value that
would be to the landlords benefit. The
tenants homes, not being real property,
together with increased rents,
could only diminish in value.
7. Are we not all familiar with the
Manor, in Medford, and the adjacent
MHP most recently in the news? Those poor
folks got their eviction notice,
cannot sell, move, or even give their
homes away, and can only live day to
day as the whims of the Manor decide to
upscale the mobile home property
to some better more "lucrative
use". Hey, that's Capitalism, it's
what keeps
my stock value climbing, I'm not
complaining.
8. But to ask the MHP residents to VOTE
for anything detrimental to
themselves, the answer is obvious. They
and many other Shady Cove
residents moved here because it was
RURAL. For an urban life, each could have
stopped and moved into Medford, on their
way to SC.
9. I was surprised myself with the ill
will created by the loss of voting on the
water issue by mobile parks residents
being removed from the district. I have
yet
to change 1 mind, these old timers always
revert to things about "free
country" "I thought I had
rights that I had fought for" etc.
Ok, they may not be
rational, but I admit I cannot control
the animosity that has been
created.
