HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF THIS, Shady Cove? Shady Cove was rural before incorporation and at incorporation, 1972, at the 1980 and 1990 census nothing had changed, thus Shady Cove was last represented by very rural District 46, extending from here to Lookingglass. What has Changed? Livestock farms, horses, pigs, goats, camels, lamas and farm fowl still exist. The Shady Cove deer herd and wild turkeys? More importantly, greater than 50% of the population still qualifies as low income. Let us consider that these facts were attractions to a portion of the growth of the nineties and also to the decision of our Secretary of State and to the Oregon Supreme Court. The 50% plus of the population of low income is still a fact. The majority, not the elite as in any decent democracy, controls and should control. We appear and still are rural. Good citizenship requires accepting court decisions and of course, the law of the land. So therefore, let us drop those floating political animosities, face our rural realities and work with our pending legislative representatives. With a little work he/she could be one of us! thank you, Vic
